“Was not their mistake once more bred of the life of slavery that they had been living?—a life which was always looking upon everything, except mankind, animate and inanimate—‘nature,’ as people used to call it—as one thing, and mankind as another, it was natural to people thinking in this way, that they should try to make ‘nature’ their slave, since they thought ‘nature’ was something outside them” — William Morris

Mega Trip

So today, off to Chicago. As well as seeing the excellent Dipesh Chakrabarty, I shall also hang out with old friend Mark Payne, who is in Classics.

Then to London, and then Sussex for the lecture there on Tuesday and a seminar on Wednesday.

Then to The Hague for Yes Naturally.

Then to Rotterdam for a lecture and a seminar.

Then home from Amsterdam.

I haven't done one of these rather complex journeys since I went Australia--Chicago--Taiwan (and various places in between) in 2011.
